Your Script
We are committed to your privacy. This application is designed to run entirely within your browser. No script or video data is ever uploaded to our servers.
Voice Recognition Data
This app uses your browser's built-in Web Speech API for voice-activated scrolling. When you use this feature, your browser may send your voice audio to a service operated by your browser vendor (e.g., Google for Chrome, Apple for Safari) for transcription. This process is subject to the privacy policy of that vendor. We do not receive, store, or have access to this audio data.
Video & Script Data
Your script and recorded video are processed and stored locally on your device for your current browser session. The video is generated directly in your browser and you are provided a direct download link. Nothing is saved permanently or tracked by us.
Advertising Partners
To help keep this service free, we display Google AdSense advertisements in limited placements. Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can review Google’s policies or adjust your ad personalization settings at adssettings.google.com.
Using VocalScroll
- Scroll Mode: Voice (desktop) highlights as you speak, Timed (desktop/mobile) auto-scrolls at a set speed.
- Record Me: On records video/audio with a PIP preview. Off does not record video/audio. Note: Voice mode may still require microphone permission from the browser.
- Controls: Font size +/- and Mirror (desktop) adjust readability and teleprompter rig compatibility.
- Start/Stop: Start runs the countdown, then begins Voice/Timed; Stop finalizes a video (if recording) and adds it to Videos.
- Videos: Stores session recordings (cleared on page refresh). Reset clears settings and reloads.
Microphone Help
If speech or recording isn’t picking up your voice, try these steps:
- Allow microphone permission when prompted by the browser.
- Pick your preferred mic in the footer under “Microphone”.
- On macOS, check System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
- Close other apps using the mic (Zoom, Meet) if conflicts occur.
- Voice scroll uses your browser’s default input/service for Web Speech and may request mic access on first use.
- “Record Me”: When Off, no video/audio is recorded. Voice scroll still works and may still request microphone permission depending on your browser.
Tip: Chrome tends to give the most reliable Web Speech results.
Recordings are available for this session only and will be cleared on page refresh.
