Pre-Recording Checklist

A five-minute routine to make sure every VocalScroll session looks and sounds professional.

Last updated September 29, 2025

1. Set the Scene

2. Check Your Gear

3. Polish Your Script

4. Run a Quick Rehearsal

Record a 10-second warm-up. Watch the playback to ensure the picture-in-picture placement feels natural and that the highlight keeps pace. Adjust font size or mirror mode if the projection surface requires it, and pair the run-through with tips from the Voice-Controlled Scrolling guide if you rely on speech detection.

5. Save & Back Up

After each take, download the recording from the Videos panel. For long sessions, copy files to external storage or your preferred cloud drive immediately so you never lose a strong take.

Recording Prep FAQ

What should I double-check right before I hit record?

Make sure VocalScroll is using the correct microphone input, confirm your framing in the countdown preview, and pick a font size that keeps the script legible. Record a 10 second test clip to confirm audio levels and highlighting.

How can I keep lighting consistent between takes?

Lock in the same light intensity and color temperature for each session. Note your dimmer levels or smart bulb presets, close blinds to avoid sunlight swings, and keep the key light slightly above eye level.

Where should I store backup copies of my recordings?

Download each take from the Videos panel and duplicate it to an external SSD or a trusted cloud drive such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive so you have at least two copies.
